![]() ![]() "Change the recoil with knives from random to consistent" Add a rhythm pattern to throwing knives, throw too fast reduces accuracy throw too slow reduces potential damage throws per minute (obviously) Change the recoil with knives from random to consistent Remove the movement slowdown Trickster receives when throwing knives Originally posted by □□:I think they should make the following changes: I think if you ditched the neon and kept the garish colors he'd look fine alongside the others. erh, protags I guess from Sympathy for Mr Vengeance and others in their ilk. The design fits in with stuff like Ichi the Killer and one of the two. I've seen a few complaints and thought I'd try to break them down into three areas.Īnnoyingly, I don't really have a solution for this one. He comes with some neat perks and he's certainly unique design wise, but everything else seems to be a bit on the average side. Originally posted by Tarcolt:I think everyone agrees that the Trickster is lacklustre. Yeah, lore is awesome, but it's secondary to in game.Īnnoyingly, I don't really have a solution for this one. Killers have to be scary in game, not in their backstory. What does trickster have, other than a bright neon coat? He speak Korean? if that's scary to you then that sounds like a you problem, and he laughs a bit? His backstory is really kinda cool, but none of it comes through in game, and I think that's the big miss here from BHVR and something to learn from. If not visually then with audio like anyone with a chainsaw, Huntresses lullaby and doctors shocking and cackling. Some killers are horrifying monsters like Oni, Trapper, Wraith, Freddy some are unseen terrors like Ghostface and Myers. But the problem is best summed up by the first impressions I got from my GF when seeing him The neon lights, flashy, stylish killer idea is something untouched by DBD and is a nice change to some of the other concepts floating around. The Kpop gimmick isn't all that bad, and he stands out. Otherwise he just needs to either end chases faster, or cause some for of slowdown, like having to remove blades as a mending action, or even just have them debuff healing and repair speed while they deteriorate. The solution? Well, a lot of people are calling for his base speed to be 115% (I think even Otz mentioned it while playing him.) It's not an elegant solution but probably the right one. Everything takes too long to achieve and he ends up feeling to slow to really exert meaningful pressure. Counterplay is fine, it's healthy and having a killer that you are rewarded for outplaying is great, but the punishment for failing to outplay him needs to be proportionate and it just isn't. Part of this is due to his knives being so inaccurate, partly to his 110 base speed and probably more to the massive counterplay he has. ![]() Hard to argue that he's not up there with the weakest killers, if not the weakest. Probably the most universal complaint is that he is weak. ![]() That ♥♥♥♥ should not be anywhere near a purple add on. That and just add the ricochet on the blades! Everyone wants it, even if it was a set of addons starting at brown like.īlades ricochet 1 time but only do half laceration (brown)īlades ricochet 1 time for full laceration (yellow)īlades ricochet 2 times for full laceration (green) Gives him a little niche compared to the others. Otherwise for his general power, why not make him pinpoint accurate? If he has to hit multiple times, then that should be an expression of a killers ability to aim and read survivors, not a crapshoot as to whether then knives will be thrown straight. Either it needs to give him extra bonuses (ramping move speed would be a good idea) or really just not be counted. I like that you don't have to use it, but at the point where it's useful maybe one in 10 times, why have it? It's a big part of his power budget spent on something flashy but pointless. There is no niche that he fulfils and is pretty much directly worse than the other 3 comparable killers (Huntress, Slinger and Plague.) Nothing sets him apart the way that it needs to and ends up in moments where you just think "If I was on Huntress, we would have got them" or "at least on Plague they would have to cleanse". Separate from balance, his kit suffers from being a bit unoriginal and probably the worst version of what it's trying to be. I've seen a few complaints and thought I'd try to break them down into three areas. ![]() I think everyone agrees that the Trickster is lacklustre. ![]()
